Today on Feminine Roadmap we’re talking about how writing helped reframe midlife for my guest Michelle Davis.

Michelle started her journey of writing after both she and her husband had back to back life-changing health issues arise. That ultimate gut check sent her on a journey that has lead to being an author and moving across the country with her husband.

Michelle had lived, gone to school and worked in the same area she was born, she married her sweetheart, life was good, nothing was necessarily out of order. But after they went through their health shifts- her breast cancer diagnosis and his heart bypass surgery- she began to wonder how her life might be more.

She found herself considering what she could do, being curious about what now? She asked herself what is more? How do find it and shift who she was? How could she show up in the world in midlife? One of the shifts that happened was recognizing the stories she had held, fears she had, and learning to let go of those. She evaluated what she could and could not control then learned to step away and allow. Michelle took to writing fiction that helped her see the world through another’s eyes and in that, she expanded her own.

If you find yourself feeling that sense of what’s next for you, this episode is a lighthouse to help you find your own way. Grab a cuppa something wonderful and let’s spend some time together reframing midlife.
