Author Amy Freinberg-Trufas shares her life changing journey of losing 150 pounds naturally after years of a debilitating food addiction. Her story starts when as a young child of an alcoholic mother she found herself having to navigate being responsible to cover up the alcoholism. As a 10 year old little girl, she was overwhelmed by the traumatic experiences that brought into her life so she turned to food as a way to numb her feelings.

In this episode she shares how she has finally made peace with a lifetime of food addiction and healing the trauma that drove her to it.

Amy came to be grateful for the trauma response that saved her life in many ways. Once she accepted that, she began to recognize that in this present moment she had the power to make a different choice. Amy calls it the power of the next right, aligned choice, one that comes from a place of grace and peace.
